Foreward
Recently is came out that an iteration GPT-3 and GTP-Chat (the chatbot equivalent of GPT-3) this has reignited the discussion of the competence of GPT-3 and the future of education.
The institution of education reformed itself to make it more efficient, and by extension: more mechanistic. The Academy became a degree pumping machine, anyone, any subject, any schedule— just sign on the dotted line.
Learning was replaced with money.
With Efficiency.
Is it any surprise then, that a machine can compete with humans regarding its outcomes? We boiled learning, teaching, and “excellence” into some unimagined rote paint by numbers process. So the slop churned out in the factory farms of Institutes can be done by computers, well done.
Will this kill Academia? Fat chance. With billions dollars of untaxable endowments, cultural pressure and reputation; they’ll be fine. They will, however, need to change, and this will be the catalyst to do so.
For if anyone can create a Harvard level essay with the push of a button, the Academy will be forced to respond. To defend its position, integrity and reputation.
This is what it’ll look like…
